Antique Silver Candle Holder Delavigne
Introducing The Met x Eichholtz Delavigne Candlestick, inspired by 18th-century French silversmithing. Its lustrous silver finish captures the timeless sophistication of Régence-era decorative arts, making it as much a sculptural object as a functional piece. Add yours to a dining table, mantelpiece, or console for an air of historic grandeur amongst contemporary living. The Delavigne Candlesticks echo a pair of candlesticks (1723 to 25) from The Met collection, created by Parisian silversmith Jacques Delavigne (master 1714, recorded 1722). With their angled baluster stems and densely patterned ornamentation, the original artworks reflect the influence of the court designer Jean Bérain (1640 to 1711).
