Bronze portal finish. Bevelled glass tabletop, cut and polished at an angle. An interpretation of a French tripod table (ca. 1815 to 1825) in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's European Sculpture and Decorative Arts collection. The original, crafted in wood and gilt bronze with a mosaic surface, features ornate winged lion legs with flora and fauna detailing, and a top depicting a quartet of birds drinking from a golden bowl with a fret trim.
