Set of four, crafted from hand-cast and hand-painted plaster in antique-style gold wooden frames with clear glass. Inspired by four Egyptian inlays from the 4th century B.C. now at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, possibly from Middle Egypt, Hermopolis (Ashmunein; Khemenu). Each inlay carries a different image: Shepsi, a solar god associated with Hermopolis; the hieroglyphic sign heh, meaning millions of years; and two likenesses of Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Natural variations in color make every piece distinct.
