Crafted from rich black veneer as a tribute to the classic American coffee tables of the late 19th century, dating back to 1870 to 1880. Inspired by a drawing of a table (ca. 1870 to 80) in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, created by A. Damon et Cie (French, active ca. 1870 to 1900), showing carved trim and turned legs. A complementary side table is offered in the same series.
