Details
Natural travertine with strong lines, giving unique colors and textures to each piece. Design cues taken from a Catalan column shaft (ca. 1130 to 1140) at The Cloisters, The Metropolitan Museum of Art location devoted to the art and architecture of the Middle Ages. That marble-and-stone shaft, made in present-day France, stands in the Cuxa Cloister, recreated with fragments of the 12th century Benedictine monastery of Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa.
